Iglesia de San Pedro
sketchfab
This is one of the oldest parish churches in the city. It was rebuilt in the last third of the 14th century (after Pero Gil's destruction in 1368), with only a few remains of the previous 13th-century factory, such as the semicircular apse remaining.\nIt has suffered several interventions afterwards, highlighting that of the Renaissance facade from 1605, built by Alonso de Barba, a student of Vandelvira, under the bishop of Jaén Sancho Dávila (1605-1615).\nProbably it was a mosque converted to Christian worship after the Reconquest, being parish -dependent on the jurisdiction of the archdiocese of Toledo in the 13th century- until it is added to the church of Santa María in the middle of the 19th century.
