I was searching for a mask design to print, but every attempt failed or appeared to demand a specialized filter cartridge. So I grabbed the most appealing mask available here and modified it to allow easy attachment of household cloth for filtration. According to a website I consulted, two layers of kitchen dishcloth (a fluffy tea towel type) are as effective as a surgical mask, boasting a 97% effectiveness rate. The cloth can be secured in place with a cable tie or wire/string, whichever is tight enough. Straps can also be fashioned from cloth or elastic to ensure a comfortable fit. I'm an adult male and the mask fits well. When you block one end and inhale, it feels like it's pulling into your face, which suggests it's comfortable enough to wear for extended periods.
