The Dardo Infantry Fighting Vehicle is an advanced infantry fighting vehicle designed and produced in Italy by OTO Melara, a renowned company with over 100 years of experience in manufacturing a wide range of armaments (primarily ground-based). The Dardo has successfully replaced the outdated M113 vehicles provided to the Army, as well as its variants (M106 mortar carrier and M577 command post). As the primary model for a new family of Armored Fighting Vehicles being developed, the Dardo will be joined by other versions, including the mortar carrier variant, the command center vehicle, and the fuel tank holder. It is also designated by the initials VCC-80.
