iFlight XL landing skids/feet
thingiverse
I've designed a landing skid specifically tailored to match the iFlight XL series frames. In fact, it should work seamlessly with more models in this line. To be honest, I'm not comfortable relying on a 3D printed part to withstand the substantial torque generated by a motor screw. The truth is, the torque required is pretty high for any 3D printed material, which can compromise its strength and cause it to weaken over time. If the print does break or crack, you might not even notice right away, and that could lead to some serious vibration issues. To address this concern, I've left two of the mounting holes completely open so that two screws can be directly fastened into the frame itself. This way, the motor is securely attached to the frame without having to rely on a potentially weak 3D printed part. The other two holes are used for attaching the skid and don't require nearly as much torque. When printing this design, make sure to mirror two of the four parts to ensure proper assembly.
