iFlight Chimera 7 Antenna mount and Battery cable mount
thingiverse
The Chimera 7 Pro v2 now comes with the battery lead mounted to the quad. I like the idea of getting rid of the drone side battery cable and having just the connector mounted to the quad. I always have too much slack and have previously shredded the battery cable in flight resulting in a 100ft fall and snapped an arm. Luckily that was the extent of the damage. With this mod it eliminates the slack that can cause the props to catch wires. The stock/regular XT60 standard plug can be used without needing to buy a different connector. You will need to shorten the battery cable length and resolder/splice/shrink tube the wires. However you choose. Instead of resoldering the battery leads to the board i just spliced/soldered the wires shorter and used shrink tube. As a result of the battery plug being mounted I wanted to incorporate a cleaner looking antenna mount to the design to make the battery connector and antenna mount look like 1 piece together. So the antenna mount was redesigned to butt up against of the back of it. I designed the antennas to be little bit further rear and they are spaced slightly wider as well. I like this design much better than stock and love the battery lead being mounted to the quad...only having the slack from the actual battery cable. Its really sturdy and you can disconnect the battery without holding both ends of the cables. The battery cable mount can be used without the antenna mount re-design if you opt to keep the antenna mount stock.
