IEC Mains inlet box

IEC Mains inlet box

For a long time, I've had a mains inlet socket hanging loose. It's not exactly safe with 240 volts coursing through the air. So, I came up with this solution. As it turns out, apart from removing tree supports and trimming the brim, no further post-processing was needed. The IEC Mains socket fit snugly into place, clicking satisfyingly as the teeth locked in. However, I did have to carefully file down the corners of the lid since they were a bit too sharp (0.3mm being a good radius). When installing the mains inlet, be sure to keep your Live and Neutral wires short and your Earth wire long. This is crucial – if you accidentally yank on the cable or pull off the connections, you don't want the case to become live.
