The designer was inspired by the "dot" in the IDSA logo, creating ripples radiating outwards symbolizing how IDSA assists designers. These ripples transform into bridges, representing structure and design. The theme words "Design it", "Build it", and "Fund it" grow between these bridge ripples. The rear side is kept simple with an integral clip that allows the pin to lay flat on surfaces, showcasing its appeal on desks. The conference details are not required at the front. This design accentuates the 3-D capabilities of 3-D printers through the bridge's structural depth.
