I had some spare bearings from my Cobblebot build and various other leftover parts. I required several Idler pulleys for a belt system I was working on, so I designed this conversion kit as a solution. The 2 outer pieces fit snugly onto the outside of the bearings and each other to create flanges for a GT2 Timing belt to sit within. There's a 7mm gap between these two flanges. By adjusting the scale of the Z axis, this design can be adapted for other widths of belts. The 2 inner pieces fit precisely onto the inside of the bearings and each other, creating a centered screw hole for an M5 Screw. These parts also ensure there's no binding by providing a gap between the bearing and any fasteners used. Two additional sets of inner pieces can be used as spacers if you need to position the idler farther away from its resting surface. All of these components are intended to fit very snugly together. I specified a 0.1mm gap for some parts and 0.2mm for others, so that they won't slip out of place when in use. I assembled mine by hand, but you may need to use a vice or pliers to secure everything into position. If your printer is producing mostly imperfect circles or over-extruding material, you might need to clean up the parts before assembly. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2 Notes: Many of the components are designed with a multiple of 0.2mm in mind, so I would recommend printing at this layer height. You'll find instances where you get one or two layers per section. Furthermore, the smallest wall thickness is 0.49mm, and my slicer only wanted to extrude it using a 0.4mm width. If you're experiencing any issues with smaller parts, that might be the reason. In most cases, you won't need support structures or rafts.
