Idler Pulley Conversion - 525 ZZ Bearing Cobblebot
pinshape
I had some bearings leftover from my Cobblebot build and other spare parts kicking around, so I figured it was time to repurpose them into something useful. I needed a few Idler pulleys for a belt system I was working on, so I designed this conversion kit from scratch. The 2 outer pieces press fit snugly onto the outside of the bearings and each other to create flanges for a GT2 Timing belt to rest in comfortably. I created these specifically because some people felt that larger pulleys were creating too big of a track for the belt, making it prone to slipping off. In certain situations, this might be true, so this conversion kit may work better for those folks. Just be warned: all of these parts are intended to be an extremely tight fit. I used 0.1mm gap and 0.2mm gap so that the parts wouldn't slide around when in use. I assembled mine by hand, but you might need a vice or pliers to get everything together smoothly. If your printer is consistently producing mostly round circles or over-extruding, you'll likely need to clean up the parts to ensure they fit together properly.
