Idler clip for extruder
thingiverse
I modified this clip to make it easier to open and close my Wade type extruder's idler. My goal was to keep the idler away from the upper part of the extruder where the filament enters, which can get in the way if it's too long. To achieve this, I made the clip a bit shorter than usual. Additionally, I built it with extra strength because my hands are big and strong - it's great for opening the idler when the prints require force. By making the clip even shorter vertically, I was able to observe the bearing moving inside more easily. Sometimes, if the print gets complicated, I put small marks on the bearing using a marker so I can see how much the idler is moving. This way, I can quickly check for filament jam in tricky prints.
