IDE Heated Build Plate System for the Makerbot Replicator Z18
thingiverse
The IDE Heated Build Plate System for the MakerBot Replicator Z18 is a complete system that includes power supply, temperature controller, and build platform. This entire system operates independently of both your software and hardware on the Replicator Z18. Simply slide in the new build platform instead of the original flex buildplate, leaving the controller outside the build chamber thanks to its long ribbon cable. The cable can be routed through either gap above or below the compartment door. On the controller, set your desired temperature for the build platform. For PLA, that's 55 degrees Celsius; for PETG, it's 75 degrees Celsius; and for ABS, you'll want a temperature of 95 degrees Celsius. Now, you're not just limited to printing with PLA on your Z18 - you can work with materials that offer better mechanical properties for your projects. Thanks to the heated chamber, you can create even better ABS parts on your Z18 than any other 3D printer we know about. Check out our time-lapse video of a large ABS part being printed without distortion or tearing. In addition to the freedom of working with different materials, you can also print without a raft and achieve an absolutely smooth bottom for your components. After cooling down, it's easy to remove large-area objects from the build platform since they come off during cooling. The IDE Heated Build Plate System comes with the following: heated build platform, ribbon cable, temperature controller, power supply.
