The tab I added to the back under the belt clip has been significantly improved in Version 3. The previous one, introduced in Version 2, held up for the event, but when demonstrating it to people, its limitations became apparent. To address this, I made the tab thicker and added a rib to it. From what I recall, the height is correct, but if it breaks off again, I will simply make it a solid block. I may test this as early as July 3rd at the Finish on the 50 10k road race held at Gillette Stadium. I left previous version text below for those interested in its history. For Version 2, I completed all changes mentioned earlier and also used the version 2 bracket during the Tour de Cure ride. Several observations were made: first, all changes had the desired effect; second, if any further modifications are made to the model, it will be to move the center of gravity up so that the radio balances better with the radio placement I chose; however, this seems unlikely. Instead, some rubber (wide latex rubber band pieces) might be sandwiched between the bracket and handlebars. Thirdly, an SMA 45-degree connector was used to maintain the antenna's direction as desired. I am participating in the Tour de Cure, a fundraising event for the American Diabetes Association, while also working on communications during my ride. Another option is needed for carrying the radio instead of clipping it onto clothes, and existing designs did not work for me. This project is still ongoing. The slot for the belt clip has been relocated as it was too low, and I am changing the radii for the handlebars. Currently, the radius is 31mm, but my handlebars are only 31mm at the center and taper to a smaller size towards the rider. This might or may not work for others; in my case, the bars are 30mm and 23mm where I am attaching the bracket. Additionally, the relief for the cable tie has been altered to accommodate a shorter tie. Something might be added to prevent the radio from moving forward and backward to stop it from rattling on the road.
