ICRC ARTICULATED HAND
grabcad
In geometry, three points form the most stable structure; hence, only three digits are required in this case, with additional numbers deemed redundant. Finger movement is facilitated via 100-200 lb test Kevlar fishing line, guided by pulleys and linear to radial gear translation (gears convert approximately 1.13" to 130 degrees of rotation on a rack/pinion). Traditional Hosmer tension bands are integrated for optimal friction on the fingertips and spring force adjustment. The operator can personalize each digit by adjusting its angle within a range of +/- 10 degrees.
