Icosatrihedron With 3 Affine Heptagons

Icosatrihedron With 3 Affine Heptagons

sketchfab

This extraordinary 23-sided polyhedron is formed by three mutually orthogonal affine heptagons, its convex hull showcasing remarkable symmetry around a central axis. Each individual affine heptagon boasts mirror symmetry, adding to the overall intricacy of the Icosatrihedron. The Icosatrihedron boasts an impressive count of 23 faces, 15 vertices, and 38 edges, adhering strictly to the rule F+V=E+2. Although this polyhedron is convex in nature, some of its faces have been rendered transparent, allowing three internal affine heptagons to be visible from outside. Affine heptagons are thoroughly explained in Scott Vorthmann's articles: Part 1: http://nbviewer.jupyter.org/github/vorth/ipython/blob/master/heptagons/HeptagonNumbers.ipynb Part 2: http://nbviewer.jupyter.org/github/vorth/ipython/blob/master/heptagons/DrawingTheHeptagon.ipynb Part 3: http://nbviewer.jupyter.org/github/vorth/ipython/blob/master/heptagons/Sevenfold%20Rotation.ipynb Compare this model with the Regular Heptagon version.
