<p>Its an ICOSALAMP!</p> <p>A lamp with the shape of an icosahedron, made of 20 triangles, 16 of them are the same piece and then we have the top piece and the three that connect to that one as separate elements. Those are separate beacause they should be able to be easily removed when its necessary to change the bulb.</p> <p>It is designed to fit the IKEA HEMMA through the hole in the top panel.</p> <p>Because the pieces are so light, you wont spend much filament on doing this lamp, you dont need a big 3d printer to print the pieces, and because its using bridging while making the connections within the piece, you dont need any support!</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>Make sure the "detect bridging perimeters" option is enabled.</p> <p>Print at 0.2mm layer height (for the propper bridging elements to be printed at the right spot)</p> <p>The pieces are printed separated and then glued together, you may glue as you usually do with 3d printing, in my case I was sticking a double side tape in the midle of the piece (to hold them together while the glue is drying), then applying glue on the sides and holding it together for some seconds, its pretty easy.</p> <p>The angle already included on the piece makes so easy the process, the orientation will come automatically, you should just be carefull of leaving the 3 connecting pieces to the top for the last (the render images I uploaded shows how it should stay before gluing those pieces), not to make any mistake and glue a normal piece (in which case nothing is lost, just when your bulb is broken you can destroy the print and make another lamp from this contest!)</p> <p>I didnt need any glue or brim for the piece to stick to the bed, but you may use one of those techniques if your print doesn´t stick due to the low surface touching the buildplate.</p> <p>I am working on implementing the make anything POLYPANELS (<a href="https://www.makeanything.design/polypanels">https://www.makeanything.design/polypanels</a>) connection but keeping the same orientation and size. That version wont need any glue and just the top piece will be different, so it simplifyes the process quite a lot.</p>
