Icosahedron Jig
thingiverse
My friend, @jeremygold, and I set out to design a welding/soldering jig for a wire-frame icosahedron. We aimed to create a jig that wouldn't be difficult to remove from inside the finished article. So, we designed it with ease of removal in mind. On this jig, each strut is secured by a zip-tie. Since the jig exists entirely outside the body being welded/soldered, nothing needs to be removed from inside the finished object - just cut out the zip-ties. Ideally, you'll print 12 of these jigs - one for each vertex - but it's also possible to use a single jig for the whole object.
With this file you will be able to print Icosahedron Jig with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Icosahedron Jig.
