Tom Burtonwood, the Artist-In-Residence at Chicago's Art Institute, is working on a new body of work in the Ryan Education Center till June 2014. He will also be giving demonstrations in 3D printing, scanning and modeling. To mark his residency, he has recently published a scan of the second Lion by Edward Kemeys, situated at the south end of AIC's entrance on Michigan Avenue. This follows the publication of the north Lion in summer 2012. Burtonwood plans to create several art pieces using scans of both Lions and incorporate them into his demonstrations and workshops over the next few months. Edward Kemeys' Lions were gifted to AIC by Mrs. Henry Field in 1893. © The Art Institute of Chicago; American Art
