This is a mounting bracket designed specifically for attaching the ICOM IC-2730 dual band radio's control head to its body. The original bracket provided by ICOM was too pricey, prompting me to create my own solution. I frequently use my IC-2730 on a desk in the shack and have found that this mount makes it easy to access the controls while keeping them firmly attached to the radio unit. The viewing angle is adjustable, allowing for versatile installation options such as a desk or shelf setup. The radio's back plate fits neatly into slots within the radio unit, making installation and removal quick and hassle-free. There is ample space behind the control unit for cables to be inserted without any issues. To print this design, you will need to follow these steps: - Print two small brackets - Use supports when printing the radio back plate - Print all parts with the back plate facing downwards Additional hardware required for assembly includes: - Two 3mm hex screws for attaching the control head pack plate to the brackets - Four 3mm hex screws for securing the mounting brackets to the radio's back plate - Two 2mm screws for attaching the control head's backplate to its unit; be sure to check your specific IC-2730 control unit for the correct screw size.
