South of Villanueva de Huerva, in Zaragoza, along the ravine excavated by the Huerva River, is located the dinosaur footprint site of El Paso. Access to the site is made following the road that connects the towns of Villanueva de Huerva and Aguilón. The El Paso site is geologically located in Lower Cretaceous limestone layers (Valanginian-Hauterivian). It contains several isolated three-toed theropod footprints found within a essentially calcareous succession consisting normally of limestones and marls alternating, superimposed on some 100 meters of clay and sandstones from the same unit, and belonging to the stratotype of the Fm. Villanueva de Huerva Areniscas y Calizas (Soria, 1997) The footprint represented corresponds to that located in the lowest part of the site
