Iceman

A snowman crafted from ice :)\nThe image showcased also features:\nthe magnificent Snowflake designed by jonmonaghan\nanother creation I conceptualized and printed for this year's end, the Starred Christmas Tree Print Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.6 mm Notes: Print with clear PLA or PET. Use a wide nozzle (mine was an E3D 0.8 mm mounted on a v6 hotend, modified i3) and enforce even wider extrusion (I used 1.2 mm). The relatively large layer height aids transparency, thus providing the ice look, while the big extrusion width helps with some almost horizontal surfaces (e.g. shoulders area). Use 0-3 base layers (as you wish) and "vase mode" for the rest. Obviously no infill, no support, no raft (given the layer height, you should not have any issues with bed alignment, however use an appropriate surface for your material. Print slow to allow for cooling and/or use a cooling fan (PLA). It may take 20-40 minutes depending on the speed settings. The printer and the filament PET-G was kindly provided by FORMWERK. How I Designed This The design was made in 123D Design and required a small correction in MeshMixer to allow for proper vase mode all the way up.
