The gear broke in my icemaker so I had to fix it myself. To make the repair process simpler, I created a new version without those extra tabs that seemed unnecessary. After over a month with this new design, everything is still working well and so far, extreme cold doesn't appear to harm the plastic used to create it. If this fix fails in the future, you'll be among the first to know. The gear repair should work for icemakers from Whirlpool, Admiral, Estate, Inglis, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Maytag, Crosley, Jenn-Air, Hardwick, Magic Chef, Amana, Caloric and Glenwood based on what I read here.
