The initial 3D model was developed using Sketchup 8 and then transformed into various 3D formats with the native file format being .skp. It was later rendered using 3ds Max 2016 and Vray 3.00. The creator of this model, AirplaneNerd777, has also contributed to it. The old model will soon be deleted. Icelandair is the main airline in Iceland with its headquarters at Reykjavik Airport, Reykjavik. It operates services to 35 cities across 16 countries on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean from Keflavik International Airport. Its geographical position allows for one-stop transatlantic flights which form a key part of their business strategy along with traffic to and from Iceland. In 2012, they transported 2,021,000 passengers, an increase of 16% compared to the previous year. Their aircraft have been upgraded with full glass cockpits and they have ordered four Boeing 787 Dreamliners. However, three orders were transferred to Norwegian Air Shuttle. In December 2012, the airline committed itself to ordering the upcoming Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with eight of these being the MAX 8 and four the MAX 9. On February 13th, 2013, they finalized an order for 16 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and 9s, in addition to having eight purchase rights for more Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
