Ice Scraper replica
thingiverse
I designed an ice scraper part modeled after my favorite Snow and Ice Scraper and Brush Tool, which can be found on the US Patent Database: https://patents.google.com/patent/USD422146S/en. Since the original patent has expired, I'm referencing it as a great example of a similar tool. This project is ongoing, but I've made some improvements to the design since its initial release. On December 16th, 2016, I updated the connection side sizes to better match the original design. On March 5th, 2020, I enforced a more stable structure in version 2 of the model to prevent it from breaking near the handle when used, especially if the plastic is frozen. To print this part, you can use a JGAURORA Z-605S printer with the following settings: * Rafts: Yes * Supports: Yes * Resolution: Layer 0.1 mm, Nozzle 0.4 mm * Infill: 100% It's essential to use ABS or a similar impact-resistant plastic to ensure the part can withstand ice and other harsh conditions. To prevent warping during printing, you should use a raft and any additional measures to minimize warping. I've also included an updated model with an additional brim of 0.4mm height to improve adhesion. Support is required on a small area near the forward blade. When printing ABS, it's crucial to use high temperatures (no fan) to avoid delamination during use. I recommend setting the temperature to 255 C, but be aware that higher temperatures may worsen warping of ABS.
