Ice Fishing Tripper
thingiverse
This is the trigger mechanism for an ice fishing rigger. It sets the hook if a fish tugs the line/bait. It is made from a base usually of wood that has a rod holder at one end set at around 45 degrees to the base. On the opposite end is a string attached to the base at one end, and to a wire loop at the other. The wire passes through the trigger printed here where the little notches are. Each notch provides a sensitivity adjustment. The tip of the pole is then bent down and the horn of the back of the trigger is slipped into the end ring on the fishing pole. Bending it down. The trigger should then hold the pole bent. A small loop is knotted in the fishing line and slipped over the hook of the trigger. When the fish bites, it pulls down on the trigger hook. The horn slides out of the end of the pole, and the pole tip springs upward jerking the line and bait setting hook.
