Ice Fishing Tip-up Traps

Ice Fishing traps are expensive for what they really are. Plastic, Tube, threaded rode and some hardware. So I figured Why note print it out. For a basic dawg bone style it will run about about $14-$20. If you're like us you will need many traps, Most of us have about 10-20 traps. So it gets expensive quick. This design will be about 1/2 that cost maybe even cheaper depending what you have lieing around. The Bom below are what I used to make the trap. I was able to pick up all the items at the local hardware stores. If you shop around a bit I am sure the hadware will be cheaper than what I have linked. Super glue the base Male & Female at the dovetail. 2. Super glue all the hardware into thier nut traps, (acorn nut, hex Bolg, Hex nut) 3. Install Tube Clamp Onto 1/4-20 hex bolt 4. Slide 1/4 tube into the groove on the Tube clamp and clamp down with 1/4-20 Wing nut 5. Slide threaded rod into the tube. 6. Slid Line Guide onto 1/4 tube on the section BELOW the clamp 7. Screw spool onto threaded rod on the section BELOW the clamp 8. Slide 1x m4 washer onto threaded rod on the section ABOVE the clamp 9. Slide Spring on threaded rod on the section ABOVE the clamp 10. Slide 1x m4 washer onto threaded rod on the section ABOVE the clamp 11. Screw Flag Tee onto threaded rod on the section ABOVE the clamp 12. Screw #8-32 wing nut on threaded rod on the section ABOVE the clamp 13. Screw Flag spring into Female Base 14. Heat flag tip to slide it into the Spring clamp 15. Bend a small amount of the flag tip 90 degrees 16. grind excess bent tip so it fits in Flag spring and use a dab of super glue to secure 17. Twist Flag clamp and marker flag into flag spring.
