Ice Fishing Pole with Automatic Jigging Action!!!
thingiverse
The company where I work is hosting an ice fishing competition and I realized I didn't have an ice fishing pole on hand. Rather than going out to purchase one, the "Ice Kajigger" was born. By attaching components like a Beer Bottle Opener and an Arduino powered "Kajigg-o-Matic", it became an incredible ice fishing pole. All I had to do was sit back, crack open a cold drink, and let the Ice Kajigger take over. Thank you and enjoy! Watch this YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsyowDFicYk&feature=youtu.be. To assemble the Ice Kajigger: M8 x 60 bolts were used to attach the reel, tip, and handle to the middle section. The reel consists of two pieces, which must be glued together along with a few 608 bearings, some washers, two nuts, and you will have a fully functional reel. The reel's handle requires an M3 x 40 bolt and a few smaller bearings, as well as a nylock nut to keep everything in place. For the rod tip, I cut off the top portion of an old fishing pole (approximately 18 inches) and glued it into a printed section designed specifically for this purpose. However, printing the rod tip proved unsuccessful, as it lacked sufficient strength. To create the Kajigg-o-Matic, I used an Arduino Uno programmed with a basic Servo Sweep program and a small 9g micro servo motor. Power is provided by two 18650 batteries. The battery holder is also non-printable, so it must be sourced from a supplier like Digikey.
