Ice Block mount for Tower Fan

A clip on bar for an Argos Value Range FZ10-9H tower fan. I created it to mount some ice blocks in front of the air flow to cool the air as it passes over the block. Slides up under the horizontal grille and the tab is inserted below the mount to keep it stable. The weight of the block keeps the tab in place. Print Settings Printer: Geeetech Aluminium I3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 50% Notes: Printed in PLA but might work better with a stronger material as tends to be a bit too flexible towards the end of the bar. Might benefit from some lateral support bars too which I might look into if necessary or some vertical extrusion at the end of the bar to hold the ice block from falling off and perhaps a drip cup (or drip stop so the water doesnt end up in the fan) as condensation and ice drip off the iceblocks over time. Post-Printing ============= How To Mount For best support, clip on underneath the horizontal grille and place the tab in place to ensure the mount isnt pushed too far into the fan and contacts the fan blades. It might be worth while putting a dot of super glue on the tab before inserting it (especially if you've little kids running around), but make sure it fits beforehand! 2-3 for each level are all that is required to hold most blocks in front of the fan. Install only when the fan is TURNED OFF! And I'd recommend keeping an eye on the fan so that condensation/ice doesnt drip off the block into the fan. How I Designed This Designed in 123D Design quite quickly and measured with a cheapo digital calipers beforehand. Clip had to be readjusted (original was 3mm thick and are now 2mm and 2.5 mm as the fan grille is not all the same thickness) so perhaps an original measurement was off. Category: Household
