The bison metatarsal was scanned three-dimensionally using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner at the Valley of the Mastodons workshop and conference in August 2017, hosted by the Western Science Center. The metacarpal was temporarily taken from its floor exhibit where it is displayed alongside Lil' Stevie, a famous mastodon fossil, before being returned to its original position. This image belongs to the Western Science Center.
