The bison metacarpal underwent 3D scanning with a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner at the Valley of the Mastodons workshop and conference in August 2017, held by the Western Science Center (westerncentermuseum.org). The metacarpal was temporarily extracted from its exhibit on the floor where it is displayed alongside Lil' Stevie's mastodon remains. The Western Science Center graciously provided permission for this image.
