IBM Mainframe S360 with Raspberry Pi Zero

thingiverse

This is based on Genetoye's IBM 360 thingi design. The body was hollowed out to make room for a Raspberry Pi Zero and an OLED display was put in the front display. Included in the URLs.txt file are the URLs to the public-domain IBM MVT operating system, circa 1970s, and the hardware description & software for the OLED display. Yes, the Raspberry Pi Zero will run the original IBM operating system. The actual "S360" I created was done at 80% of the original Genetoye size and the mount provided here for the Raspberry Pi Zero is a Q&D hack, it breaks easily and needs the holes a bit larger. This is a good project for someone who long ago encountered an IBM 360/370 computer and now wants a working facsimile to rest on their desk! This project is now completed. The front display has a white facade added to cover the holes on the corners of the OLED as well as to cover the remaining face plate of the printed display housing, which is black and rough. The "stl" files used are included. Note that there are two sets. One set is 80% of the size of the Genetoye original sizes. The 80% size is more than large enough to contain the Pi Zero. Also included are the "scad" files. Happy building!
