Iberital challenge MC 2 sigle dose silent(ish) hopper
thingiverse
In order to make this grinder a little bit less noisy i startet to fill the top of the machine with silicone (2K would be perfect). Also I added some foam feets and an sound insolation matt to the bottom as well as some sound insolation matt inside the machine. Since I use this grinder as a single doese grinder i designed a hopper which has a way smaller volume and therefore a smaller resonace body (in theory). I designed two hopper, one hyperbolic, so that the beans should get into the grinder via mass flow instead of core flow. And a straight hopper, hoping that the mass of the beans will push the lower ones down which ay reduce "popcorning". I havn't tested the straight one so I would be happy to hear some thoghts if someone will print this one. I also designet a small part which should be pressed inside the hopper to reduce popcorning as well. It should fit in both versions, but i havn't testet it. Pla seems to fragile for this and the legs are always breaking. The hopper instead print nice with PLA. The outlet you see in the picture isnt ready jet. i lost the mesurements and have to start all over. it is fitting but its really tight and hard to get it in. It helps to get all the grinded beans out. If wantet, i will upload it as well. I try to improve the design even more so feedback would be nice!
