IBC Tote S60 Fine Thread to Garden Hose Adapter
thingiverse
I thought I was in luck when I stumbled upon garden hose adapters for a 275-gallon IBC tote on Thingiverse. Unfortunately, they're all S60x6 (coarse thread) and my tote has an S60x3 (fine thread) configuration. Since designing my own adapter was inevitable, I made the walls slightly thicker and added reeding to provide grip when screwing it onto the tote. A version with a bib nut that helps tighten it to the tote and prevents it from turning during screwing or unscrewing hoses is also available. I'm unsure if a 2-inch o-ring will seal this adapter like other S60-style designs; I didn't include a groove for one, and its cone shape means there are no flat areas. It's likely to leak without significant post-processing to smooth the print layers, so I plan on sealing the threads with Teflon tape or plumbers putty. Printing without supports resulted in only minor stringing at one side of the grip-to-bib transition inside (where the threads are widest). To eliminate this issue, I'm currently printing the bib nut design with the fan set to high. As for my standard disclaimer: I'm clearly not a professional designer, but I can usually tinker to create something that works for my needs. Please leave constructive criticism if it's warranted, and refrain from being a troll.
