The IAR 81C, a Romanian fighter and ground-attack aircraft of World War II, was created with significant upgrades.\nFrom Wikipedia:\nThe final development stage in the IAR 80's wartime evolution saw the emergence of the 81C model. In this version, a change was made to replace the guns once again with the Mauser MG 151/20. This new cannon replaced the MG FF/M which had become standard in German service and had recently been approved for Romanian use. A contract for the production of the 81C aircraft was awarded in May 1942, predating the order placed for a second batch of the upgraded 81As.\n\nThe initial batch consisting of one hundred IAR 81C airframes arrived on the scene, all being similar to earlier versions that lacked the centerline bomb rack which made them ideal fighters. Additionally, orders were issued in February 1943 for thirty-five and in January 1944 for fifteen more units, these deliveries aiming primarily at replenishing losses from previous aircraft types. With production levels of the Bf 109G continuing to increase, replacements were in great demand during that time period.
