The IAR 80 was a Romanian fighter and ground-attack aircraft developed during World War II. This low-wing monoplane made its first flight in 1939, showing capabilities comparable to advanced fighters of the time like the Hawker Hurricane and Bf 109E. Despite some delays due to production issues and limited armament availability, IAR 80 planes began operational service in 1941. It played a key role until the end of May 1945 when it was withdrawn from frontline use.
