Iaculis is a compact mechatronic system of an endless cube assembly/disassembly process,which was the output of our work during college course Design of Mechatronics Systems 1 (MCT 381) The aim of this project is to provide a realistic view of a mechatronic system.The project’s name Iaculis is inspired by the Greek language. Iaculis means grip as everything in this assembly/disassembly line is gripping parts to assemble/disassemble them.Iaculis consists of five stages. Stages are actuated with a group of pneumatic cylinders and steppers. All stages are controlled with Arduino micro-controllers with the help of a punch of sensors (e.g.: infrared proximity sensors and limit switches). The five stages are communicating with each other with an I2C communication protocol.
