I3Lab Logo
thingiverse
A keychain sporting the logo of I3Lab, where I'm currently pursuing my PhD. I was in the midst of my PhD program when I acquired my first 3D printer, a Creality Ender 3. It had been nearly a decade since I last used Blender, a 3D CAD software, which I'd used back in 2009. In need of a simple project to refresh my basic knowledge of 3D modeling, I set out to design an object that would help me get back into the swing of things. During this period, I designed four versions of the keychain, each one more sophisticated and refined as my skills in 3D printing continued to improve. The final version, which I consider definitive, is a minimalist design with a double-face feature and nearly invisible base. Although it appears fragile, I've subjected it to various tests, including bending, and found that it can withstand pressure from bags and jeans pockets without sustaining any damage.
