i3 X-axis GT2 Pully Holder/ Belt Tensioner
thingiverse
This setup is designed for applications with 2 rods that are 45 mm apart, centered. The base of the holes features hex slots to accommodate a nut and screw for secure insertion. If the hex holes print slightly small, use an M3 screw longer than required and pass it through the hole instead. Next, apply heat from a lighter to the nut and carefully pull on the long screw to set the nut firmly in place within its hole. This tension system surpasses the original setup by eliminating reliance on the slip fit of vertical printer components for belt tension. Instead, it applies direct pressure to the ends of the rods to maintain belt tension while keeping the slip fit unstressed. Moreover, this design optimizes pulley placement and maintains consistent tension throughout its entire travel. This setup utilizes GT2 bearing pulleys available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Anycubic-Aluminum-Timing-Bearing-Printers/dp/B01BTTERC2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482793738&sr=8-1&keywords=gt2+bearing+pulley Required hardware includes: 1 x GT2 Bearing Pulley 1 x M5x25mm screw 1 x M5 locking nut 2 x M3x10mm screws 2 x M3 nuts This setup was printed in ABS solid at a layer thickness of 0.2 mm.
