This is what I created to stabalize, and straighten, my I3 Rework's Aluminum frame. The top piece slips over the two M3 screws that are poking out of the back of the aluminum frame (the ones used to mount the holder for the Z axis smooth rods) and the bottom piece screws into the table or a piece of wood (I used 3/4" plywood). It is parametric and you can change the angle that is printed within Solidworks by going to the equations section and telling it how tall is your frame (370mm) and how far out will the all thread touch the wood (mine is 200mm). From that the equation will work (in both files) to create the proper angled heads. I do not have a picture of my setup because everything is black and I am still setting up some lighting in there (man is it ever dark). I will add a picture of it once I finish with everything (could be a few months so I thought I might as well release these files so others could get some use out of them in the mean time). I use metric wherever possible as I prefer metric but the lack of metric hardware in the United States is rather alarming (YMMV and if it does you are really lucky) so instead of beating my head against the pavement/brick wall I decided to use a 1/4" all thread for the braces (nuts and washers, all 8 of them, too) and #6-3/4 inch wood screws to hold the bases down. I chose these sizes because they are very close to their metric equivalents, as well as for strength (especially for the #6 over a #4), so adjusting hole sizes shouldn't be necessary (1/4" is M6 and #6 is M3.5). All SAE hardware was purchased from Home Depot as Lowes just didn't have any of the stuff I needed locally. I have added an easier access to the 3mm nuts Upper Piece in both stl and Solidworks 2014 source. Instructions You will need at least four M3-25mm, four M3 washers, and nuts. The M3-25mm is what will be holding your Z axis onto the aluminum frame and on the back side this. You will need four #6 SAE Wood Screws, or M3.5 wood screws, as well as 1/4 inch all thread, or M6 all thread, with 8 washers and nuts. If your i3 rework is not clamped to a table/board then grab my clamps I made @ http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:396905 because you must have it clamped for the stabilizer to work. I have added an easier access to the 3mm nuts Upper Piece in both stl and Solidworks 2014 source.
