For ctc i3 or i3 pro b with 22mm spacing between smooth and threaded rod, ensure that there's enough room for nuts and bolts since they're not threaded. A smooth side should be raised up to accommodate acme lead screws. Use 8mm thread length screws; any bigger and the z carriage won't pick up evenly. If your lead screw is rigidly attached, check for wobble on either side. It can transfer to your x-axis smooth rods, causing your hot end to move erratically. You might get a perfect print until a certain height, then it becomes wavy or bounces back and forth before stabilizing again. When you put this part in place, the x-axis will still lift, but if the lead screw wobbles, it won't push against the x-axis rods. I've taken a video to show you how the z-rods and lead screws work together: https://youtu.be/347EzX_SSdc The gray one in the pictures is the modified setup.
