i3 Build Plates, with Upgrades
thingiverse
This build plate is designed for a single sheet style Prusa i3 printer, featuring numerous upgrades from various Thingiverse sources. The creator has listed these upgrades on their blog. Two sets of Z couplers are included as the i3's z-rods are M5; original M8 (Applerust's) ones are also provided for future use. Plate 4 accommodates printed LM8UU bushings, but regular LM8UU's users should avoid printing this. The design incorporates two 3mm bowden extruders and a dual hotend mount. Due to rendering issues in OpenSCAD, the source files are not much help, with half of the design completed in TinkerCAD instead. Bernardo Baptista's i3 Z rod stabilizers have been added as an update. A later update features Jridley's Extra Rigid Y Axis belt clamp with Tensioner on Build Plate 1V2. The plates are designed for a 200x190 mm bed, and users should ignore the mislabeled Plate 33 which was an earlier version of Plate 3. For the 5mm-5mm Z couplers, tubing is recommended as they were generated right at 5mm and haven't been tested yet. The build plates are recommended to be printed at 30-35% infill.
