i3-90
thingiverse
Human beings take inspiration from classic designs like mendel90 and incorporate modified parts from newer prusa i3 models, resulting in a printer that stands out as solid and reliable. The print quality is consistently good, and the design allows for ample space to mount various components. Constructed primarily of wood, this printer offers a cost-effective alternative to aluminum extrusions. The goal was to create an updated version of mendel90, with the intention of building a versatile printer that could accommodate diverse needs. Upon examining the classic design, it became clear that a fresh approach was necessary. The i3-90 has adopted the same rod spacings as the prusa i3 MK2 and MK3 models, thereby ensuring compatibility with carriages, extruders, hotend mounts, and other components designed for those printers. The name "i3-90" originated from the folder containing the parts and ultimately became the official designation. As future updates may be implemented, the design is now available on github to ensure users receive the latest modifications and additional information.
