
I2C / Serial LCD Display with joystick and buttons

This console is associated with our open source laser cutter software and features a 2x16 LCD Display, 4 buttons, and a joystick. It connects via I2C to the motherboard and can also communicate through USB/Serial. Powered by an ATMEGA 168, it's reprogrammable and has a standard 6-pin connection for a USB -> TTL Cable. The design is made in KiCAD, with the latest version available on https://tuxic.nl/laos/hardware/panel/pcb and firmware at https://tuxic.nl/laos/hardware/panel/firmware. Purchase the PCB or components from http://www.laoslaser.org, using an ATMEGA20-PU (with Arduino Bootloader), a ceramic filter 16Mhz, resistors, pushbuttons, joystick, transistor, capacitors, LCD display and pin-headers. Casing designs are available in Inkscape and SketchUp files for the box and middle button respectively.
