"I Love You" Box

"I Love You" Box

A circular keepsake box adorned with the timeless phrase "I LOVE YOU" emblazoned in the elegant style of Morris or Goudy around its circumference. The lid is a simple canvas, awaiting your personal touch, or alternatively, it can be transformed by inserting your loved one's initial, beautifully printed and pressed into place. For a truly customized message, consider uploading an image or drawing - perhaps a child's artwork or a cherished memory - to the http://3dp.rocks/lithophane website. To create your own lid insert: ensure your image is square and of high resolution, then upload it to the site, setting Max Size (MM) to 60, Thickness (MM) to 4, Border (MM) to 1.6, Thinnest Layer (MM) to 0.6, Vectors per Pixel to 5, Base/Stand depth to 0, and Form to "Flat, mirror Neg.". Click on the image to download a customized STL insert for your lid. The base, lid, and letter in the accompanying photo were printed at my lowest quality setting - 100mm/s and 0.32mm layer height - yet still turned out beautifully. To replicate this look, consider painting your creation with a mixture of two coats of wood glue and half a teaspoon of Brass Powder from eBay, as described by Dizingof. Alternatively, for a stunning dual-color effect, print the letter insert at 0.2mm layer height, pause the print at 1mm (start of layer 5), and change the filament. This design is inspired by the public domain images of William Morris or Frederic Goudy's Goudy Initials. While there may be debate over its true origin, one thing is certain - this font remains as lovely today as it was 100 years ago. With no support needed, it prints effortlessly, and I'm confident it will also look stunning in bronze fill, wood fill, or other materials.
