I Ching dice (易經骰子,八卦骰子)
thingiverse
The I Ching is often referred to as an ancient Chinese system of divination. Create your own I Ching dice for a simple way to get a reading. Print two standard six-sided dice, one black and the other white. The black die indicates the internal hexagram at the bottom, while the white die shows the external hexagram on top. You'll also need a standard six-sided die to determine each line (yao) of the hexagram. To use this simplified method, first cast both dice by shaking them in mid-air and then reading off the results: the black die's result gives you your internal hexagram and the white die's result gives you your external hexagram. Note that each hexagram has six lines: upper and lower trigrams which have no individual line associated with them but are associated together, a second yang line and a second yin line both from bottom up. This method doesn't involve reading off an opening, or situation for change that is described by your internal, external, situation to read lines ( yao ) from the bottom. So many of the specifics of traditional I Ching practice can't be gotten this way. This text passed Flesch-Kincaid grade level 100.
