I-7 Model Stand 1/72
thingiverse
This is a stand for displaying up to two I-7 Howlrunner models https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6457851. The bottom box can house a battery (9-volt) and wiring with LED lights for use with one of the two lids. The cradle can be sized for other models and I have plans to adapt the cradles for future printed models. All parts are designed to fit snugly without the need for glue. The stand's Angle_Mount feels a bit clunky and I may try alternative designs to reduce the size. The Pin_Mount can be inserted into the Angle_Mount at -22.5 degrees, 0 degrees, or +22.5 degrees to vary model's "in-flight" look. The Pin_Mount fits snugly into the bottom of the cradle avoiding the need for glue, and allowing the cradle to be turned to any angle on the pin. The cradle can be fragile so use care in removing support material.Parts List:Stand_BatBoxBot: Stand/Battery box bottom printed without supportsStand_BatBoxTop_Twin: Stand box without holes printed without supportsStand_BatBoxLED_Top: Stand box with holes to allow 3mm LED uplights printed without supportsStand_Angle_Mount: 3-angle mounting for Pin_Mount that fits tightly on I-beam style upright printed with organic support under its pin. I recommend printing this with the pin extended horizontally for better strength when installing Pin_Mount. If printed vertically, the Angle_Mount's pin could break during assembly.Stand_Pin_Mount: Pin mount that fits on Angle_Mount and into the cradle. Blade slides into one of the three slots on Angle_Mount. Print with supports.Stand_Upright_Tall and Stand_Upright_Short: Two I-beam style uprights that fit snugly into the box top. Print with 4mm brim for plate adhesion and use supports (I prefer organic for easier removal).Stand_I7_Cradle: Cradle designed specifically for the I-7 Howlrunner. Print with supports and remove support material carefully so as not to break the thin cradle arms.
