Hôtel d'Alluye, Blois
sketchfab
The hotel was constructed between 1500 and 1508 for Florimond Robertet, France's treasurer, secretary to Kings Charles VIII, Louis XII, and Francis I. Influenced by Italian art from the Quattrocento period, Florimond Robertet made his hotel a modern manifesto both in architecture and decor. The hotel's dimensions were unprecedented in Blois' center, originally consisting of four building blocks preceded by a gallery forming a peristyle around a central courtyard. Over time, more than half of the hotel was destroyed. Very restored in the 19th century, it remains an art reference from the first Renaissance period.
