Hyundai Sonata Tweeter Replacement Blank

The base model Hyundai Sonata has a sound system that leaves a bit to be desired. Most annoyingly, the vehicle has no tweeters but instead points a "full range" driver at the windshield. This plate allows for replacement of the driver with a component tweeter of your choosing. Print the parts and drill a hole appropriate for the flush-mount hardware that came with your tweeter set. If you prefer to print the part with the hole already in it, feel free to use my original OnShape model and re-size the hole. (Change the #Opening_Diameter variable to the diameter of the opening of your flush-mount adapter then export each of the two parts.) Print Settings Printer: Any Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 100% Filament: Any PLA+/PLA Any Notes: These brackets don't have to support a lot of weight so PLA is fine. If you are concerned about strength or heat resistance, use a Nylon or ABS filament instead. Custom Section ============== Installation In Car. Tools Needed: * A panel tool and protective cloth * A ratcheting driver [like this one](https://www.harborfreight.com/8-piece-right-angle-screwdriver-92630.html) * A #2 philips bit You can see where the three clips are in the photo above; use the panel tool to pry in these areas, protecting the dash with the cloth under the panel tool. Use the driver and bit to remove the two screws from the driver. Don't drop them! (Use a magnet if you're concerned about this) Unclip the wires to the driver. Install the tweeter into this bracket and sort out the wiring. (Beyond the scope of this guide) Screw the new bracket with tweeter in it in place of the old driver. Re-attach the speaker grille into the dash. Category: Automotive
