The 3ds Max 2010 file format is also available, but without the added complexity of lighting or rendering studio settings and featuring only standard materials. Besides 3ds Max files (3ds, fbx, lwo, c4d, obj), only basic materials with no advanced shaders or background setups are included. The 3ds Max and Maya formats can be edited with an uncollapsed smoothing modifier. All other formats are exported as a high-poly model. A low meshsmooth level is visible at the wire view for both 3ds Max and Maya formats, right next to the high-poly wire view. This product comes with three different 3ds Max files: one set file that's uncollapsed, allowing users to make changes; one hipoly file collapsed with all modifier history cleaned up for smooth use in other programs; and a studio file featuring all rendering setups used to create the preview renderings. Because disk topologies vary across computers, it might be necessary to adjust texture patches on the destination computer.
