This is for the 5-speed manual transmission used with the 2.0L inline 4 engines from the mid-2000s, code-named "Beta 2". They may fit older or newer Hyundai and possibly Kia manual transmissions as well, since several of their designs were licensed from Mitsubishi and shared between other models. I'm showing some love to the Hyundai aftermarket community, which is pretty small for these older Hyundais here in the United States. These parts are installed on my 2003 Hyundai Accent, into which I swapped the drive-train from a junkyard Elantra. They may fit a stock Accent manual transmission as well, but since I switched from automatic, I'm not sure. These are replacements for the stock semi-hollow rubber bushings used and are intended to deliver a more precise, less "mushy" shift due to eliminating slop in the factory bushings. Aluminum, brass, and urethane bushings are available for this car for 30-40 USD, and I think that's just too much. I would stick to higher-temperature materials, as these parts sit under the hood, on top of the transmission of the car, which can get quite hot. I printed mine with Micro Center's Inland brand red ABS. I have used these bushings on several trips so far of various lengths during the summer and have not seen any evidence of melting, cracking or fatigue. I would advise going with solid infill for safety reasons. Post-Printing Light sanding may be needed if the bushings are a tight fit into the shift cables. Sand or Dremel them down in order to fit. This may be particularly necessary if your cables have a bit of rust on them. A tight fit is what you're looking for to deliver precise shifts, so don't go too far. Additionally, if they stand too tall when installed, you may need to remove the stock retaining washer which sits below the cotter pin where they mount. How I Designed This Tinkercad After measuring the stock rubber bushings with a digital caliper from Harbor Freight, I aligned some solid cylinders and another one as a hole. It was quite simple. I designed each bushing in two separate pieces so they could be printed with the outer rim to retain the metal shift cable but also not require support material.
