In my crusade against disposable electronics, I present the USB charger upgrade for HYPPE Disposable vapes. This piece attaches to the base of the HYPPE Vape Pen, and you attach the Battery to this Micro USB-C Charger which gets embedded into the base of the Vape Pen. Slight modification to the board may include sanding the edges of the circuit board to fit the interior circumference of the HYPPE pen. but the 3d printed part is a friction-fit piece Just like the original "Cap" that comes stock. "Affiliate" link below to the correct charging board that's used for this project.Micro-USB Li-Ion ChargerSoldering to the + and - terminals of the battery is required. but disassembly of the HYPPE Vape is easy, Step1) Remove the metal ring at the base by slipping a fingernail or slim obect between the Ring and the case. it will slide off as it's only friction fit with a pair of small O- rings. the cap will be removed, and you will not need this any longer. Step2) Remove mouthpiece. this is friction fit, but tough to get off, You can use a vice to remove by twisting and it will eventually twist off with some persuasion. I've seen people use their teeth, but I implore you to be careful with your teeth. Step3) Slide components out from the top, but use a slender object to push it through from the bottom. I caution "pulling" from the top, simply because the coil isn't glued in very well, and if it's tugged on, it can deform and result in burnt flavor in the wick. Which is very unpleasant. Step4) Solder small wires to the battery, use some heat shrink to keep everything insulated. Step5) You may need to cut a small hole in the base Grommet to feed the wires thru, but you can just cut a slit and run the wires that way. Step6) feed components into the case same way you disassembled it. Step7) Sand your board to fit the end of the case. You'll only to sand down the edges just enough to have it fit the edge. Step8) With your newly added leads poking out the base of the case, Attach and solder your leads, be careful this battery is an unprotected cell, a short can burn up those small wires in an instant. Step9) Fit the board to the 3d printed extension and ensure that the USB-C mounts flush, Step10) push the extension into the case, Step11) Before replacing the mouthpiece, you can refill the sponge with e-liquid of your choiceStep12) Enjoy not contributing to mass-produced e-waste.
